    RESEARCH AND PUBLICATION ETHICS

The Asian Journal of Economics and Banking (AJEB) and the Asian Journal of Applied Financial Econometrics (AJAFE) are both owned by Ho Chi Minh University of Banking (HUB), under the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV). AJEB is published by Emerald Publishing on behalf of HUB, while AJAFE is published by the same Journal Publishing Body, Tạp chí Kinh tế và Ngân hàng Châu Á, on behalf of HUB.

AJEB and AJAFE (collectively, the “Journals”) adhere to the relevant publishing policies and ethical standards of Emerald Publishing. The Journals and their editorial teams are fully committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and ethical practice in scholarly publishing.

The Journals follow the principles and guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and support the consistent application of internationally recognized ethical standards throughout the scholarly publishing process.

    Research and Publication Ethics: Summary

You should only submit your research to us if the following conditions are met:

    ▪ The research has been conducted with the highest standards of rigour, integrity, transparency, and ethical responsibility, in accordance with applicable institutional, national, and international research ethics requirements.

    ▪ The work is original and does not involve plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, inappropriate image or figure manipulation, or other forms of research misconduct.

    ▪ The work has not been submitted elsewhere and is not currently under consideration by another journal, publication, or publisher, except where permitted under our preprint and conference paper policies.

    ▪ The work complies with our requirements on the responsible and transparent use of generative AI. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy and integrity of their work, and AI tools must not replace human authorship or accountability.

    ▪ All listed authors meet the journal’s authorship criteria, have made appropriate intellectual contributions, have approved the final version, and accept accountability for the integrity of the work.

    ▪ All previous publications, presentations, datasets, ideas, figures, tables, and other relevant sources are properly acknowledged, cited, and referenced. Citation manipulation, including excessive self-citation, coercive citation, or citation stacking, is not permitted.

▪All funding sources and potential conflicts of interest that could influence the research, review, editorial handling, or interpretation of the work are fully disclosed.

▪The work does not contain libellous, defamatory, unlawful, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate material, and any statements concerning identifiable individuals or organisations are appropriately supported.

    ▪ All required permissions and copyright clearances have been obtained for third-party material, including figures, tables, datasets, images, recordings, and other copyrighted content.

    ▪ Where research involves human participants, identifiable individuals or organisations, animals, or sensitive data, appropriate ethical approval, informed consent, and consent to publish must be obtained and documented where required.

    ▪ Authors must ensure that research data and results are accurate, complete, reproducible, and appropriately retained so that they can be examined or verified if required.

    ▪ All manuscripts and materials under peer review must be treated as confidential. Submitted files must not be uploaded to generative AI tools or large language models for evaluation or decision-making.

▪Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to uphold professional conduct, editorial independence, fairness, and respect throughout the submission, review, and publication process.

If a submitted or published work is found to have breached these requirements, appropriate action may be taken in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Depending on the nature and severity of the issue, this may include rejection, correction, expression of concern, retraction, notification of the relevant institution, or other appropriate post-publication action.
